Le cufé – The egg fight
One of the most entertaining Easter traditions is the cufé - the egg fight.
It is played by two people. First, each player checks the consistency of the shell and any fakes in the opponent's egg. Then each player holds his egg in his hand and bangs it against the other's egg.
The winner is the one who breaks both ends of the opponent's egg. The broken eggs may be kept as a prize.
In the days of our grandparents, when having enough food was not obvious, it was therefore more than just pure fun, a win meant extra food.
