
Festa dl pan - Bread Festival
This year we celebrate the very first edition of the Bread Festival, an event dedicated to one of the simplest and most treasured foods of our tradition.
The event will be hosted by the local mountain huts and businesses of La Crusc / Santa Croce.
In the days leading up to the festival, there will be special moments.
The festival day itself on Sunday will culminate in a joyful celebration with typical dishes, music, encounters and workshops for both children and adults, all centered around bread and the traditions that surround it.
A warm and inclusive event, open to all – a moment to reconnect with the land, with craftsmanship, and with each other.
Here's the detailed program of Sunday in all huts and at the farms:
Ütia L'Tamá
Dish: Rye bread ravioli filled with nettles and butter flavored with fenugreek
Highlight: Discover the wheat grown in the garden and used to bake homemade bread.
For the kids: Let’s make mountain herb salt for the bread!
Ütia Lé
Dish: Creamy cereal mix with beetroot, mountain cheese mousse, and crispy speck, served in a bowl made of rustic mountain herb bread
Highlight: at 11.00 am: Live the experience of baking handmade bread in the traditional oven, with Nikolas Seppi.
Afterwards, the traditional 'Crosti' will be prepared.
For the kids: Weave your own bread basket – just like in the old days! And this together with the craftsmen from the La Spona workshop.
Ütia Nagler
Dish: “Jüfa” – a traditional peasant dish
Highlight: The young farmers of the village prepare the traditional “jüfa” in a large pot, just like in the old days.
Ütia La Crusc
Dish: Veal cutlet with “pücia” breading and a side of potato salad
Highlight: Old photographs share the story of the bread and the hands that lovingly kneaded it.
Ütia Ranch da André
Dish: Rye bread soup
Highlight: Stories, images and tools of rural tradition.
For the kids: Baker for a day - bake your own stick bread!
Alfarëi farm
Dish: Snack with local bread and farm products
Highlight: The old mill comes to life and reveals all its timeless ingenuity. You’ll see how flour is produced and also get a close look at ancient tools once used in the fields.
The event will take place even in case of bad weather.
During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.
Follow the SS244 Val Badia road towards Badia, continue on the San Linert street until you reach the La Crusc 1 cable car parking area.

The bread path: From field to ovenJourney into our tradition today during a guided hike through the fields, as we discover the history of bread together with Helga, our herb expert.
We visit an old mill and a historic oven, where Matteo, a farmer from the Alfarëi farm, shows and explains how they were used. Meanwhile, we enjoy the authentic taste of bread.
The guides speak Italian and German.

Amid stories, recipes, and local flavours, we’ll listen to those who live the culture of the region every day. The whole event will be accompanied by folk songs and a special aperitif (in Italian and German).
