The time of year dedicated to the transhumance, the sheep shearing and the annual markets
Autumn is for Alta Badia, as for all of South Tyrol, the season of the alpine pasture cattle drive, the village festivals in honor of the patron saint, the markets and of course it is a particularly tasty season, rich in delicious products from the fields, meadows and forests.
For our ancestors, autumn usually began after August 15, because they observed nature very closely. They knew that summer was over when they saw that the days were getting shorter, the nights were getting cooler and the swallows were preparing to leave the valley.
