Anna
A violin maker in La Val
One day, on the village football pitch, Anna meets violin maker Claudiu Man, who tells her about his work. In that moment, a spark ignites within Anna, a spark that continues to radiate its precious light even now. Following an apprenticeship with the esteemed luthier, she embarks on a journey to France and then to Cremona, where she studies under master artisans, immersing herself in an art that has become an inseparable part of her existence. Undoubtedly, talent and passion flow abundantly within her.
In the small village of La Val, the presence of a female luthier might seem surprising. Yet, Anna defies expectations. She selects the "peció", the spruce wood, from which she makes her "stradivarius".
Stepping into her atelier, with its array of violins, wood, strings, and cases, is nothing short of enchanting. And Anna herself is a lovely person who will tell you the unique history of Ladin violins.
