Tru di lersc - the larch forest trail

The larch forest trail starts in San Cassiano and passes by the farms of Rü and Larscëi until the Rudiferia farm where you meet a characteristic, recently restored and perfectly functional water mill. The trail, which was set up thanks to the work of the natural parks office of the Province of Bolzano, winds through larch forests and alpine meadows at the foot of the Fanes – Senes – Braies natural park.
As well as its beautiful views of the countryside, the route also gives hikers the chance to admire some interesting man-made creations that are in perfect harmony with the natural surroundings, such as the characteristic fences of the alpine region, the dry stone walls and the water mill referred to above. Along the trail a series of panels give important information about plants and shrubs and on the fauna and geology of the Dolomites area.
