Rait de San Linert dles valades ladines
St. Leonhard horse ride of the Ladin valleys and South Tyrol
Sunday, 05.11.2023

At the beginning of November Alta Badia offers you a unique opportunity to admire the awesome autumn landscape of the Dolomites and to immerse yourself in a world rich in traditions.
Join us for the parade of horses and costumes in honour of Saint Leonhard, patron saint of horses and knights, and you will get to get to know Alta Badia even better.

Usually the Saint Leonhard‘s Sunday begins with the solemn Holy Mass celebrated in San Linert/San Leonardo.
At 10.45 am the horse parade starts from the Pedraces district and following the public road it reaches San Linert/San Leonardo village centre.
The parade will be opened by the cart of the patron saint followed by horses of the Haflinger and Noriker horses, traditional costumes and festively decorated carts.
The party continues in the event hall and in the tent with local gastronomic specialties and with the "törggelen", an ancient South Tyrolean tradition that takes place from October to and where locals and guests taste and enjoy traditional harvested products, especially wine and chestnuts.
The whole event will be accompanied by the entertainment of the bands Tiroler Herz, from Poza, Lajen and Badia, as well as the folk dance groups from Val di Fassa (Grop de folcklor Cianacei) and Val Badia (Bal popolar Val badia).
