Lagazuoi - Skitour
Alta Badia

Lagazuoi - Skitour

The panoramic Lagazuoi ski route is an immersion in the nature and culture of the Ladin Dolomites and, above all, a journey into the dramatic history of the First World War in the Dolomites.

From the villages of Corvara, Colfosco, La Villa, Badia and La Val, you can reach Armentarola/San Cassiano (1,600 m) on skis or by public transport. From here, a frequent and fast shuttle ski bus service (for a fee) takes you to Passo Falzarego (2105 m). From Colfosco, Corvara, La Villa and San Cassiano, Passo Falzarego can also be reached directly by bus. From the pass, the Lagazuoi cable car takes you to the summit of the mountain of the same name (2800 m). Before starting the descent, it is essential to stop and admire the view: 360° of Dolomite peaks, from the Tofane to the Marmolada and the Sella group.

As a ‘warm-up’, we recommend descending the Lagazuoi slope, a red slope that leads to Passo Falzarego. And now, ready for the descent on what is known as the ‘true Lagazuoi descent’, the Armentarola slope. The 7.5 km long slope, once reserved only for ski mountaineers, is now perfectly groomed and therefore accessible even to intermediate skiers. At the start, the slope has a considerable gradient. In the Lagazuoi valley, it then becomes gentler, allowing you to rest a little and admire the ice walls on the left. The last section of the slope descends into a steep canyon before ending more gently in Sas Dlacia.

At Sas Dlacia, the famous Noriker horses await you, ready to pull you up to the Armentarola ski lift, which takes you back to the Alta Badia ski area.

Starting from one of the slopes in the Alta Badia ski area - apart from San Cassiano, which is closer - it takes about half a day to complete the entire circuit. During the excursion, you can also take a detour to the Cinque Torri ski area, which can be reached on skis from the Falzarego Pass. The excursion to Lagazuoi is unique both for the beauty of the landscape and for the numerous historical sites you will encounter along the way.
