Ji a fëies, ji a cütles - Going for pancakes

On the 26th of December, the young boys went to the farmhouses where there were girls of marriageable age to book "les fëies" (coloured foil flowers), which they would then put on their hats on the 6th of January. On this occasion they were welcomed with delicious pancakes, which is why the custom was also called "jí a cütles" (going for pancakes).
When several girls lived in one house, groups of young people would come together to celebrate and dance. For the musical entertainment, there was always someone from the group who could play the accordion.
