First World War ski tour
Corvara

On its slopes, between 1915 and 1917, the Italian Alpini, the Austrian Kaiserjäger and the German Alpenkorps fought fierce battles, so much so that the mountain is now considered a memorial to the many war victims. Along the route you will come across emplacements, tunnels, loopholes and relics of the terrible conflict.
The route winds its way at the foot of famous peaks such as Civetta, Pelmo, Lagazuoi, Conturines, Settsass, Sassongher, Sella and Marmolada, delighting the skier with views of extraordinary beauty.
The whole tour takes about 7 - 8 hours. It is therefore advisable to start very early in the morning in order to finish the tour before the lifts close. Due to its length, the tour is suitable for skiers with good preparation.
The tour can be done either clockwise or anti-clockwise, and in both cases there are sections in the ski bus, the ticket for which must be purchased directly on board - not included in the ski pass. The counter-clockwise route includes an atmospheric section of approx. 1.5 km in which skiers are pulled by a parade of Norse horses.
