Roadbook
From San Cassiano/Sarè (bus stop) you reach the district of Capanna Alpina (1,729 m), from where you follow path no. 11 heading east, first level, then steeply to Col de Locia (2,069 m).
Through larch terrain, the route continues downstream to a large plain, the Gran Plan, from where after a slight ascent you reach the Tadega Pass.
Passing the junction towards Lavarela and Conturines, continue in the same direction. After another flat stretch, reach the alpine meadows of Fanes with the Gran Fanes Alm (2,110 m) (walking time: approx. 2 hours). This is followed by a gentle ascent to the Lech de Limo (2,159 m), which is also the highest point of the hike.
From here, there is a short and steep descent to the huts Ütia Fanes and Ütia Lavarela (walking time: approx. 2 hours 40 minutes). Between the two huts is the idyllic lake Lech Vërt, reflecting the opposing "Parliament of Marmots."
The "Parliament of Marmots" consists of layers of dolomite rock that form a magnificent, natural arena. The legend of the Fanes says that in the rock caves live members of the former Fanes people.
The return can be made via the same route or down path no. 7 to the Ütia Pederü hut (1,544 m) and the bus stop (walking time: approx. 3 hours 10 minutes).
