Skiing at La Crusc/Santa Croce
Skiing and traditional food admidst UNESCO World Heritage sites
The Skitour La Crusc is a strikingly beautiful paradise, set in the natural parks of Fanes-Sennes-Braies and Puez-Odle, UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Dolomites and their unmistakable colours, made particularly special at sunset thanks to the rosy hues of the Enrosadira, are the perfect place to ski or stroll peacefully along these perfectly-designed slopes.
A warm welcome and traditional hospitality are innate virtues of this area. The picturesque La Crusc/Santa Croce pilgrimage church at 2,045 m (6,709 ft) and the little, characteristic mountain huts along the slopes, where traditional Ladin dishes such as "turtres" (fried pastries filled with spinach), "panicia" (barley soup), "bales da ciocie" (bacon dumplings) or Kaiserschmarrn are being served, are worth a visit.
The ski tour
The tour covers a total length of approx. 4 km (2.8 mi) and an altitude change of 700 m (2,296 ft). All slopes, served by modern and comfortable ski lifts, can be prepared using artificial snow.
The skiing area La Crusc/Santa Croce can easily be reached from the centre of La Villa by means of the Colz chair lift. Along the slopes, local specialities can be tried in the eight huts that are part of the unique gourmet ski tour. The huts are cosy and lovingly decorated with lots of attention to detail in the typical Ladin style.
