    Turn-by-turn directions

Taking the cable car from the Pordoi Pass (which can be reached by public service bus) will save you the steep initial climb. From the top station, you first go downhill to the Forcela Pordoi hut where you follow mountain trail no. 627 towards the Boé/Bamberger hut. At the mouth of the Val Lasties, you fork off to the right and continue on trail no. 638. After a short climb, you reach a broad rocky plateau directly beneath the summit. Now you climb the impressive peak to reach the summit of the Piz Boé (1 hour 20 minutes) where you will find the Capanna Fassa hut.

You go down from the Piz Boé on trail no. 638 along the rocky south-east ridge of the Piz Boé and then north-east to a large area of stone and scree, heading towards the Franz Kostner hut.

After 40 minutes you reach the rubble-filled Pigulerz gorge (special care needed). Continuing north-east on trail no. 638, head along the Sella ring beneath vertical rock faces until you come to the Franz Kostner hut (1 hour 10 minutes). From here it is easy to reach the Vallon chairlift, which takes you up to above the Lech de Boé lake, where trail no. 638 leads to the top station of the Boé gondola lift.

If you want to complete the entire route on foot, you can continue walking from the Franz Kostner hut on trail no. 638 past the idyllic Lech de Boé lake to the top station of the Boé gondola lift that takes you down to Corvara.
