Open air museum 5 Torri

5 Torri

During the First World War the area around Mt. Cinque Torri was occupied by the Italian army which established there their artillery headquarters. To prevent an Austrian counter-attack, the Italians prepared a defence line at 5 Torri.

Because of the unique good view on the surrounding mountain all the military actions in the zone could be followed.

In the area around the Cinque Torri, there are many easy to moderate trails to choose from with a walking duration between 15 minutes and 2 to 3 hours. Thus everybody will find the suitable tour hikers.

The walk around the Cinque Torri itself takes about 2 hours including the visit of the restored open air museum.

The open air museum at Cinque Torri can also easily be reached by chair lift shortly after the Falzarego Pass driving in direction Cortina.

The area can be visited also in winter by skiing the First World War Ski Tour.
