Peaks of gastronomy Alta Badia

Peaks of Gastronomy, the delicious initiative of the summer season in Alta Badia, is calling all foodies with a series of initiatives, which unite an outdoors lifestyle with the pleasures of good food in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage.

The 2017 edition of Peaks of Gastronomy is all about the colours of the rainbow. Speaking of food, the emphasis is on the colours of the products used in the recipes created by of the best Italian star chefs.

Thanks to the variety of colours, the gastronomic tour through the mountains in Alta Badia will become a real feast for the eyes.

The chlorophyll of green vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, artichokes and green beans helps build new blood cells, supports the detoxification of our body and help to keep the blood glucose level constant.

Orange and yellow fruits and vegetables such as oranges, lemons, carrots or pumpkin are rich in beta-carotene, potassium and vitamin C, which help the formation of collagen and promote the health of the articulations.

Blue and purple foods like blueberries, eggplant or red cabbage are powerful antioxidants and real benefactors for the memory.

The red foodstuffs, such as tomatoes, peppers, rhubarb and strawberries, protect the blood vessels and the heart. They are also a valuable fuel for body and mind. They give energy and joy of life.

Eight star chefs, together with eight huts along the hiking trails in Alta Badia, have chosen their favourite colour, which will outline their recipes. The dishes, specially created for "Peaks of Gastronomy", can be tasted throughout the summer in the participating huts.

Join us in Alta Badia, let surprise yourself by the taste of the delicious food and enjoy the magic of colours.

Each dish will be accompanied by a South Tyrolean wine, carefully selected by a local sommelier.
