The skiing area
The Alta Badia skiing area in the Dolomites is situated between 1,300 and 2,778 metres above sea level, providing optimum skiing conditions from December through to April.
53 fast and comfortable ski lifts, 130 km of excellently prepared ski pistes (subdivided in: 74 km easy/blue, 47 km medium/red and 9 km difficult/black) and its central position in the world’s biggest ski carousel, the Dolomiti Superski, have ensured that Alta Badia is one of the most popular skiing areas in the Dolomites. Thanks to the direct ski connection, you have the opportunity of skiing to your hearts’ content on 500 kilometres’ worth of pistes.
There is no lengthy queuing or crowding at the lift stations and on the ski pistes, which are specially treated every night by a large number of snow groomers and perfectly prepared for the next day.
Furthermore, representatives of the Alpini and Carabinieri police force will guarantee absolute safety and their motorised sledges ensure that when they are needed they can be on hand very quickly.
Alta Badia – excellent for experienced skiers
Ambitious skiers and professionals can have virtually endless fun on the pistes of Alta Badia.
The classic ski round trips such as the Sellaronda or the First World War Ski Tour, the black runs of Gran Risa in La Villa and Vallon-Boè in Corvara as well as the panoramic downhill run from the Lagazuoi Mountain require skill and endurance from the skiers whilst rewarding them with astonishing views and unforgettable moments.
Incomparable atmosphere & exquisite culinary delights
Welcoming mountain huts and gourmet mountain restaurants perched against the captivating backdrop of the Dolomites, framed by an intense blue sky, enhanced by brilliant sunshine, the congenial and sociable local populace, and the successful marriage of typical South Tyrol atmosphere and Italian “Dolce Vita”.
All these make Alta Badia a most desirable skiing area, and especially so for guests who enjoy the good things in life.
Alta Badia – ideal for families
Since around half of the pistes are not too challenging, the Alta Badia skiing area is ideally suited to families and ski novices. Almost all communities in Alta Badia offer lifts and pistes for children, as well as ski kindergartens.
