La Val - Fanes
From La Val to Fanes mountain
Overview: This hike is mountainous in nature and, given the route’s length and altitude changes, requires perseverance and training, and should only be undertaken in good weather. Here is unspoilt nature, and a breathtaking view, sheer mountain walls soaring skywards which glow red at sunset, a vivid scene which extends over the fabled, legendary landscape of the Fanes mountain, taking in the characteristic Dolomite flora, marmot squirrels and the chamoix goats which live and frolic the length of the rocky mountain tops. All these experiences combine to make this walk truly unforgettable.
Starting point: Car park at the Spëscia farm (1536 m). Access from La Val via the local road. (ca. 2,5km)
Itinerary: Leaving the Spëscia car park (1536 m) go south along trail nr. 13/A, switching to nr. 13, leading to Ju de Sant Antone. Admire the romantic Lêch Vërt between the refuges. The return journey follows the same route or, alternatively, go down to Pederü following the nr. 7 signs which lead first of all to Lé Piciodel before continuing, on even ground then downhill, towards Pederü (1544 m) (4h 10min.) at the bus stop
