From Capanna Alpina to Forcela dl Lêch and on to Lêch de Lagació
Overview: Varied mountain hike in the Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park. Admire the stunning views from the Forcela dl Lêch, looking north over the entire Fanes mountain range. Or turn your gaze westwards and the imposing Conturines. East lie the rock faces of the Fanis group and to the south, the Lagazuoi plateau and homonymous lake extend.
Starting point: San Cassiano/Capanna Alpina (1729 m)
Itinerary: From San Cassiano, walk to the Capanna Alpina (1729m). From the refuge, take trail nr. 11, flat ground at the beginning as you head east but which, going north-east, becomes a wooded slope leading to Col de Loćia (2069 m). Continuing on the same trail as it rises and falls through the great swathes of Alpine pines, you will come to the Grand Plan, or Plan de Ciaulunch,
a large verdant plateau.At the beginning of this, on the right and south-east, is the junction for Lêch de Lagació. Follow this slightly uphill trail (nr. 20/B) to the Forcela dl Lêch (2475 m), the highest point of your itinerary (2h 30min.). The descent is by way of a steep path but well maintained path, to Lêch de Lagació. Continue on trail nr. 20, which, via a steep gully, brings you firstly to the Ütia Scotoni Hut (20min.) then along a ski slope and back to the Capanna Alpina (50min.), the trip’s starting point (4h).
