Badia - Pescol - Grones - Badia
Walk from Badia to the Pescol, Grones and Costa farms
Overview: Relatively easy walk through an ever-changing backdrop of meadows, pastures and woods, passing by ancient farms while feasting on marvellous views of the Dolomites and the landscape of Alta Badia.
Starting point: Badia – bus stop (1327 m)
Itinerary: Just a few metres north of the bus stop is the signpost. From there, take sign nr. 6 (Pescol), which takes you north along the provincial road until you come to the small village of Puntac. Keep left on the tarmac road through woods and meadows until just before the Jusciara farm, where you take a steep track on the left through the meadows until reaching the houses at Pescol (1h). Now follow nr. 6/A towards the north, before staying on the left in the direction of Aiarëi. The trail, which is high up, crosses steep meadows before bringing you to the isolated farm of Col Cöce. Shortly after, enter and cross the wood, which has various levels of terrain and steep slopes, until you come to a fence at its end. Go past the fence and, sometimes on the flat, sometimes slightly downhill, cross the meadows until coming to a junction north of the Grones farm (1h 50min.).
Carry on to the right and follow sign nr. 8 southward, passing the Grones farm, travelling towards Badia. The trail descends gently and comes to the Costa farm. Just after is the provincial road, near a sub-station, and in a few minutes, you have returned to the starting point in Badia.
End point: Badia – bus stop (1327 m)
Stop-off points: none
Level of difficulty: easy walk
