Badia - Lêch dlà Lè - Pasciantadù
From the La Crusc/S.Croce sanctuary to La Villa
Overview: La Crusc/S.Croce is one of Alta Badia’s most popular destinations, due in part to the chairlift that goes from Badia to the sanctuary. Its location is without equal, situated as it is at the foot of the majestic Sas dla Crusc, with a view that can only be described as simply stunning out over Val Badia and the surrounding mountains like the Pütia, the Grup dl Sela, Puez-Odle, with the Marmolada to the south and the central Alps glaciers to the north. Pilgrimage destination and stop-off point for various excursions.
Starting point: Badia (1327 m) - chairlifts S.Croce and La Crusc
Itinerary: You reach the La Crusc/S.Croce sanctuary (2043 m) after a pleasant ascent by chairlift. This is the starting point for the easy excursion, lasting around 1 hour 40 minutes up to the town of La Villa. From the church, the path goes west. Follow sign nr. 13 towards La Villa. This path too is flanked by the Via Crucis stations, crossing woods, mugo pines and pastures before coming out after 30 minutes at the Malga Pasciantadù. The journey continues on a roadway, The next stage, still following the nr. 13 signs for La Villa, passes through meadows and pastures, and alongside the Pescolderunch, Craciurara and Ćianins farms before reaching river Gran Ega, when you can climb up to the town of La Villa (bus stop).
End point: La Villa – bus stop (1427 m)
Stop-off points: La Crusc/S.Croce Hut
Level of difficulty: easy walk
Type of trail: simple and then large path through a larch tree wood, up to the Castalta farm (1705m).
