Skiing in the Stella Alpina Valley
Wide, sunny slopes and welcoming mountain huts with panoramic terraces.
A ski trip to the Edelweiss Valley, part of the Dolomiti Superski area, welcomes you with wide, sun-drenched slopes and cosy mountain huts featuring panoramic terraces. This easy to intermediate ski excursion at the foot of the Puez–Odle Nature Park offers some of the most beautiful views in the Dolomites.
From the valley floor in Colfosco, a modern gondola lift takes you directly from the Sellaronda to the small yet well-known Edelweiss Valley – a sunny basin framed to the north by the peaks of Sassongher and Ciampać, and opening southwards to a breathtaking view of the Val Mezdì and the Sella Group. Set gently into this stunning Dolomite landscape are the wide downhill runs, all equipped with snowmaking facilities. With a total length of 5.5 km, the slopes are varied, interesting and suitable for different skiing abilities. Thanks to their quiet location away from the busiest ski circuits, the slopes of the Edelweiss Valley are particularly popular with families with young children and with relaxed, leisure-oriented skiers.
Within the basin, the automatic four-seater Forcelles chairlift takes you up to an altitude of 2,125 metres, offering especially impressive panoramic views. From there, a wide red run descends with several branches, covering a vertical drop of around 500 metres. On the opposite side, the Col Pradat gondola serves a short run that is initially steep and technically demanding. This section, classified as a black run, is where experienced skiers and training athletes put their skills to the test. For less experienced skiers, a blue variant is available, allowing a relaxed and safe return to the valley.
Three mountain huts with panoramic terraces complete the offer, inviting you to take a break and enjoy the sunshine, the scenery and local culinary specialities.
“Funzone Edelweiss” – the action & fun area featuring a speed track, a kids’ slopestyle and a funline.
