Natural park Puez-Odle & Edelweiss valley
The Alta Badia Valley, which spreads over 16 km in the southeastern part of Südtirol/Alto Adige, lies in a sunny basin surrounded by imposing Dolomite peaks and framed by two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Puez - Odle Natural Park and the Fanes - Senes – Braies Natural Park.
The Puez - Odle Natural Park is extremely interesting from a geological point of view, here you can find all the rock strata which are typical of the Dolomites. One of the most popular entrances to the natural park is the Edelweiss Valley in Colfosco. The rustic-romantic valley is destination and start of many hikes. The views from every point of the valley are simply unique, but the view from the Col Pradat hill on the Sella massif and the Val Mezdì Valley is especially worth mentioning. The mountain seems close enough to touch!
In winter, the Edelweiss Valley is especially popular with leisurely skiers and families.
