Mostra y prejentaziun - Exhibition and presentation 'Via Amelia 150'
- 05:00 PM-07:30 PM
The “Via Amelia 150” traveling exhibition and presentation commemorate the 150th anniversary of the trail blazing journey of two English women, Amelia B. Edwards and Lucy Renshaw, throughout the Dolomites, which was an unknown and unexplored territory in 1872.
Via Amelia 150 celebrates the historic, cultural and natural patrimony of the Dolomites and highlights the spiritual link between this unique landscape and humanity.
On 30 July 1872 Amelia met young Franz Rottonara and recognised his enormous talent and during the exhibition it will be possible to admire some of his works, kindly loaned by the Kostner Family.
The Spirits of the Dolomites 150 audio visual presentation (in Italian) will be given on 10 August from 17:30 to 18:30.
We recommend a visit to the Church of Santa Caterina, which Amelia visited and describes in the Via Amelia Audio Guide in Itinerary 9. The Church, which according to the priest in 1872 was “pretty for so poor an out-of-the-way place”, is open every day from 8:00 to 19:00.
During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.
The calendar of events may change due to the government regulations.
