L'edema dla geologia - Geological excursion on the Pralongiá Plateau

Did you know that the Pralongiá plateau is called the "Dolomite amphitheatre" because of its spectacular views?
This area also offers gentle morphologies due to glaciers and hides a real Triassic seabed under its beautiful meadows!
Together with the palaeontologist Herwig Prinoth, you will discover the fossils contained in the rock layers and help you to imagine life in the ancient warm Tethys Sea.
Itinerary: Piz Sorega (2040 m) - Pralongiá (2157m) - Störes - Pralongiá - Piz Sorega
Meeting: 8.45 a.m. Piz Sorega valley station (ascent by cable car – for a fee)
Return: approx. 1.00 p.m. (mountain station Piz Sorega)
Altitude diff.: ↑ approx. 200 m

Useful informations / what to bring
Bring the confirmation of the reservation (also in digital format). It is important to have trekking shoes, mountain sticks and mountain wear.
Note for teachers: for this activity, it is possible to ask for a certificate of participation.
Follow the SS244 Val Badia road towards La Villa and continue on road SS37 to San Cassiano.
