In the bear's steps - Excursion to the Conturines cave
- 08:30 AM-04:00 PM
Excursion to the Conturines cave in the Nature Park Fanes-Senes-Braies, UNESCO World Heritage site.
A unique discovery and a world „first”! While walking in the Conturines area in 1987, a hiker came across a cave containing the bones of a cave bear (Ursus spelaeus), which became extinct 11.000 years ago. The bear was names as “Ursus ladinicus”. With this hike, we will retrace the stages of that incredible find and breathe the atmosphere of the Ice Age.
