Badiamusica - The Decameron. Life and death.

- 09:15 PM-10:30 PM
As part of the Badiamusica Festival, a musical theatre based on Giovanni Boccaccio will be performed by two actors and three musicians.
The story
Ten young people flee from the plague in Florence (1348) to the countryside, enjoy fun-filled days and tell each other stories for ten days (Decamerone translates as "ten-day work"). They are all survival stories, funny, entertaining, thoughtful, erotic, cryptic and sad. The prologue is particularly famous, and is considered one of the most detailed descriptions of the plague ever written.
The music for the piece is by Francesco Landini, Jacopo da Bologna, Monk of Salzburg, Oswald von Wolkenstein, Codex Rossi, Codex Buranus, Laudario di Cortona and Gregorian music.
