The Sellaronda Skimarathon, the international touring ski competition by night through the Dolomites passes of Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella and Gardena, is a competition for teams of two people. The competition, given its technical characteristics, is reserved only for expert skiers in this discipline.
The athletes, equipped with touring skis, sealskins and a front light, ski on the wonderful Dolomites ski slopes by night, passing by the villages of Corvara, Arabba, Canazei and Selva Gardena, where every year in turn the start and the arrival of the competition take place.
The skiers have to overcome a total of 42 kilometres and an altitude difference of 2.700 meters.
The Sellaronda Skimarathon is an exciting and enduring race, just for very qualified and trained skiers who have to be prepared even to face unsecure tracks and changing weather conditions. It can be considered a truly unique touring ski competition in the world!
