Orienteering is a sport which started in the Scandinavian countries and is now spreading all over Europe and the world with about 3 million enthusiasts.
Sometimes called the forest sport, orienteering can be done at both, competitive and non-competitive levels by athletes, families, and enthusiasts of all age groups. It is a race against time in which, equipped with a map and a compass, competitors cross the finish line after going through a number of check points, known as lanterns, which are marked on an special map.
