The Val Stella Alpina valley in Colfosco is a popular destination in the Dolomiti Superski skiing carousel. The easy and sunny slopes in the Val Stella Alpina are linked to the Sella Ronda slopes by a modern cable car starting from Colfosco village center.
The Val Stella Alpina bowl surrounded to the north by the crests of Sassongher and Ciampać opens to the south to a fabulous view over Val Mezdì and the Sella group . Here, nicely set within the Dolomite scenery in a quiet, sunny position, away from the busier ski circuits are wide runs, all artificially prepared when needed, that cover 5.5 km of technically interesting and varied skiing.
From the bowl, the four-person automatic ski lift goes us up to 2,125m at a particularly scenic spot. From Forcelles a wide red run descends over 500m with a number of possible branches. On the other side, the Col Pradat cabin serves a short, but initially very steep run. Expert and physically fit skiers venture onto this black run. For the less expert there is the blue option that allows you to return relaxed and safely to the valley floor. The Stella Alpina ski run is in a sunny position in the valley and has an easy tow that is especially suitable for children and learners.
The whole tourist “experience” is capped off by three refuges that offer panoramic terraces inviting skiers to stop and enjoy the sun, scenery and local food.
